Waynesfield 26 – Minster 6

An experienced Waynesville team defeated Minster in its opening contest on the local lighted athletic field. Left halfback Bob Huelsman became the first Wildcat player to score in a gridiron contest. Minster also threatened on at least one other occasion when they lost the ball on a fumble at about the 10-yard line.

Extra excitement was provided during the game when a section of temporary bleachers, which had been borrowed from New Knoxville in an attempt to accommodate the large crowd which turned out, collapsed and caused minor injuries to several persons.
