Germantown 12 –
Minster 0
Germantown scored touchdowns in the first and
fourth quarters on the lighted gridiron here, as both teams were hampered by
the wet field and drizzling rain which made passing difficult, contributed to fumbles and made kicking out of danger a problem.
Quarterback Don Bachman incurred a badly
injured left ankle and foot. The ankle
bone is cracked and several small bones in the foot fractured. The injury, incurred in the third quarter of
the contest, weakened Minster’s chances of overcoming the 6-0 lead held by the
visitors at that point.
The basketball team will feel the impact of
Bachman’s injury as he will be lost to the team until at least early in 1950,
according to the athlete’s physician.
