Minster 39 – Ansonia 6

Minster plunged, ran the ends, passed and intercepted to hand hapless Ansonia a 39-6 setback at the Darke County school.

Dan Miller ran 21 yards for the first tally in the initial quarter, and Rolly Bernhold passed to Bob Tebbe for the extra point to put the Wildcats ahead 7-0.

In the second stanza Bernhold passed to Virgil Huelskamp in the end zone and Dale Hogenkamp plunged from the six-yard line for a pair of TDs. Miller carried one extra point after touchdown and the score was 20-0.

The Wildcats crossed Ansonia’s goal line twice in the third quarter with Miller plunging over from the two and Huelskamp intercepting an enemy heave and going 45 yards. Both extra point tries were futile.

Each team tallied in the final episode. John Horstman bullied his way through from the one and Bernhold ran for the extra point. Ansonia’s Charles Keaser scores from the one-yard line.
