Minster Falls to St. Henry

ST. HENRY — Friday night the Minster Wildcats traveled to
the #7 ranked team in division five, where they were soundly defeated by a 21-7
score. St. Henry held a dominating
statistical advantage with 389 total yards compared to the 186 yards compiled
by the Wildcats. St. Henry running back
Jon Hemmelgarn racked up 273 yards on 29 carries.
St. Henry scored touchdowns on their first two
series of the game two take an early 14-0 lead.
Minster responded in the middle of the second quarter with a 12 play, 76 yard drive which culminated in a Ty Parks three yard
touchdown run to make the score 14-7.
The Wildcats received the ball on the St. Henry 30
yard line to start their next series, but lost six yards on three plays
and came away empty, leaving the score 14-7 at the half.
St. Henry opened the lead to 21-7 midway
through the third quarter with an 81 yard touchdown drive. Minster could not mount another drive until
late in the fourth quarter, when Ty Parks complete 6-13 passes to drive the
Wildcats to the St. Henry 15 yard line before turning
the ball over after a failed fourth down pass.
St. Henry then proceeded to run out the clock for the 21-7 win.
Next week Friday 3-5 Minster hosts 1-7 Parkway
with their playoff hopes hanging by a thin thread.
