VERSAILLES    The Versailles Tigers used their spread offense to dominate a diminished Minster Wildcat squad from the first series of the game.  Derek Langenkamp threw for touchdown passes on five of the first seven Versailles possessions to lead the Tigers to a 41-0 halftime lead and a 54-15 final score.

Langenkamp finished the game completing 20-27 passes for 323 yards and five touchdowns.  He yielded in the second half to Zach Niekamp, who threw for another 83 yards to give Versailles 406 yards through the air on the evening.  The Tigers rolled up 506 total yards on the night, which they needed to overcome their 12 penalties for 141 yards.

In the first quarter, Langenkamp completed touchdown passes of 3 yards to Jordan Monnin, 22 yards to Mitchell Campbell and 32 yards to Damian Winner.  In the second quarter he added scoring tosses of 21 yards to Aaron McNeilan and 42 yards to Monnin.

Versailles capped the first half scoring with two minutes remaining when Jordan Luthman returned a punt 58 yards for the Tigers sixth first half touchdown.

The Wildcats, who were missing several starters due to disciplinary issues, finally cracked the scoreboard in the third quarter.  An Austin Knapke interception stopped a Versailles drive at the 18-yard line.  Nine plays after, including conversion of a fourth down and 11 play, Adam Niemeyer scored on a one-yard quarterback sneak.  The Tigers roared right back, completing a seven-play drive with a two-yard run by Niekamp.

Each team scored once in the fourth quarter.  Minster compiled a 13-play drive, including two fourth down conversions, topped off by a three-yard Daniel Gusching touchdown run.  Versailles last score of the evening was a six-yard touchdown pass from Niekamp to Chad Winner.

Next week Friday, Versailles, now 3-3, travels to play the 3-3 Fort Recovery Indians.  1-5 Minster will remain on the road to face 5-1 Anna.
