Versailles Dominates

VERSAILLES — The Versailles
Tigers used their spread offense to dominate a diminished Minster Wildcat squad
from the first series of the game. Derek
Langenkamp threw for touchdown
passes on five of the first seven Versailles possessions to lead the Tigers to
a 41-0 halftime lead and a 54-15 final score.

two minutes remaining when Jordan Luthman returned a

The Wildcats, who were missing several starters
due to disciplinary issues, finally cracked the scoreboard in the third
quarter. An Austin Knapke
interception stopped a Versailles drive at the 18-yard line. Nine plays after, including conversion of a fourth
down and 11 play, Adam Niemeyer scored on a one-yard quarterback sneak. The Tigers roared right back, completing a seven-play
drive with a two-yard run by Niekamp.
Each team scored once in the fourth
quarter. Minster compiled a 13-play drive,
including two fourth down conversions, topped off by a three-yard Daniel Gusching touchdown run.
Versailles last score of the evening was a six-yard touchdown pass from
Niekamp to Chad Winner.
Next week Friday, Versailles, now 3-3, travels
to play the 3-3 Fort Recovery Indians.
1-5 Minster will remain on the road to face 5-1 Anna.
