[Back to Pregnancy Journal]  [What the Bible Says about Children]  [Jake's Recommendations to Lauren]  [Return to BLITCH Home Page]

God has much to say about children in the Bible.  Here are just a few of the scriptures, that have most touched me.

Our first child, Jake, was born after nearly 9 years of marriage.  During that time, I have had many gynecological surgeries and been given several different diagnoses as well as wildly varying prognoses.  Everything from 'you will never be able to have children' to 'you have just as good a chance as any'.  One of my surgeries included the removal of one of my tubes and ovaries, and I came very close, on at least two occasions, to having a complete hysterectomy.  So it is with much gratitude that I hold my child (Jake) and soon to be children in my arms and I give God all the glory, honor and praise!

I pray that other women will be encouraged as they read these verse from God's Word!

Verses relating to the womb:

And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb ... Deuteronomy 7:13a

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. Psalm 127:3

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Jeremiah 1:5
