[Back to Pregnancy Journal]  [What the Bible Says about Children]  [Jake's Recommendations to Lauren]  [Return to BLITCH Home Page]

April 4, 2003

I asked Jake today if he'd like to dictate a letter to Lauren to add to her baby book.  Recalling a conversation we had the previous day, Jake asked if he could give Lauren his recommendations ... the day  before we had discussed what the word "recommendation" meant.  So, here is what he dictated to me. ...

Hi Lauren, this is your big brother, named Jake.  I really love you and am glad you're joining our family.  Here are some recommendations and advice for being in our family:

  • Always hug and kiss your big brother, named Jake.  I love you!
  • Always help me karate daddy, and say "daddy" whenever he sings that funny song.
  • Say "Jakey" to me whenever I sing a funny song.
  • Tickle mommy in the armpit.
  • Always cuddle and hug and kiss as much as you can.
  • At church, do not act up and do not do that stuff I wrote above at church, but you can cuddle there.
  • Church is fun, because you learn about God and Jesus.
  • Be quiet at the library.
  • Watch movies with your big brother, but don't squirm around.  And I will hold you tight while we watch the movie.
  • We have the greatest mommy and daddy, you're going to love being part of this family!

Signed:  Your big brother, named Jake!
