Easter Buddies
The Bible tells us ... "In the
beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
Genesis 1:1. It also tells us that God has a plan for us in
Jeremiah 29:11. It is with deep reverence for that plan that we
participate in Easter Buddies.
Jeremiah 10:12 has such powerful words about our God ... "It is
He who made the earth by His power, who established the world by His
wisdom, and by His understanding stretched out the heavens."
It is only through truly knowing who God is and going to Him as the only true source that we can have anything worthwhile to offer. So for each of the patients and each of their families who receive an Easter Buddies gift and even for each person who by whatever means come to read this, I pray that you would come to know the God who made you and the God who loves you and the God who has a plan for you. I pray you will know the peace that only He can bring. I pray that you will receive the gift that is available through faith in the finished work of His son Jesus Christ. Each time I take this picture after setting out the 'stuff' I get emotional. I think in part because I know each of these items will go to a hurting family. I think also in part because I see the generosity of my friends and am humbled.
Sorry for the terrible lighting. This is Lauren B (Tina B's daughter) and Lauren's friend Liberty M who helped out this year for the first time. It was a joy to have her there.
